God is love
– 1 John 4.8
4 God is patient and kind. God is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. He does not demand his own way. He is not irritable, and He keeps no record of being wronged. 6 God does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 God never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
– 1 Corinthians 13.4-8
Are you an anti Christ? What you wrote are deceitful.
Stop writing untruthful attributes of God! That will deceive a lot of people. If you do not understand the bible, please stop writing articles that pertains to the bible. Write other articles that you are familiar with, but not what’s in the bible.
Dove124,
I hope that you are aware that the Bible teaches that God is love (1 John 4.9 and 1 John 4.16), and that the primary force motivating God is His love for the whole world (John 3.16, Romans 5.5).
I am very confused by your comment that saying that God is love, God is patient and that God never gives up is an “untruthful attribute” of God.
Which Scriptures are you basing this conclusion on?
Love and blessings,
Benjamin
Yes , I fully aware more than you can think of ; What disagreed upon is the way your article conclude that , “Since God is Love, therefore God is patient and kind, God is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude,he does not demand his own way,he is not irritable, and he keeps no record of being wronged.”
This is a kind of article of a person who is ignorant of the bible.
example :
God is not jealous : have you not read that God is a Jealous God ? (Deut. 5:9)
How about boastful?: read Deut.5:24
re: He does not demand his own way : This is a stupid assessment of God.
Understand this verse:
“Ye shall therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you : ye shall not turn to the right hand or to the left(Deut. 5:32)
And so also for the other wrong attribute of God that you gave.
So,..What ever knowledge you have pertaining to the words in the bible, KEEP IT TO YOUR SELF, don’t show it to the world.
READ AGAIN YOUR BIBLE, AND THIS TIME , UNDERSTAND IT CAREFULLY.
Hi Dove,
Thanks for responding to my post. I think you would be a little easier to read if you didn’t shout at me to read my Bible while you were engaging with me.
If you are entering into a discussion where we can both learn and both develop and both grow, then that is fine. If all you want to do is make yourself feel bigger by trying to cut me down, that will simply be a waste of both our times.
I will respond to one of your points. If you want to discuss things in love – patience and kindness – then I will gladly keep responding to your points. If you want to keep telling me to keep my mouth closed and “shout” at me, then I will simply delete your comments and let my blog post stand on its own merits.
In response to your comment that I have said that because the Bible says that God is love and that the Bible also says that love is not jealous, then God is not jealous. You respond by saying no, God is jealous.
Well, essentially you need to dig a little deeper into the Bible than you have already.
The Greek word for jealous in 1 Cor. 13 is zeloo. The Bible tells us love is never jealous. But, just one chapter later, Paul tells us to follow love and desire (zeloo) spiritual gifts.
So either Paul is contradicting himself, and would no doubt receive a CAPITAL LETTER rebuke from you, or the word has more than one meaning.
Essentially the word can mean JEALOUS in the idea of desire intensely to have. This is fine for a Christian. You should desire spiritual gifts, to speak in tongues and prophecy, to heal the sick and move mountains by faith. That is Biblical. You should have strong desires – for God’s glory, for the kingdom of God, for the gifts of the Spirit, for living right. This is what the Bible means when it says God is JEALOUS – He longs for you and your heart. He wants your best, He wants to have a love relationship with you. He sent His only Son so that sin could be dealt with so that He could fellowship with you.
But the word JEALOUS can also mean DESIRE INTENSELY TO TAKE FROM. This is what Paul meant when he said Love is not jealous. Love is not a taker, love is a giver. God so loved the world HE GAVE. Loving people are generous people, not thieves. Jesus came to bring us abundant life, the THIEF came to STEAL!
God is not a taker. He wants to give life and goodness and every good gift to you. That is why I can say with confidence of Biblical accuracy that God is NOT JEALOUS.
Thanks,
Blessings,
Benjamin
