All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
I knew a man from India who got hold of a New Testament, was converted and started to preach, but he had no background at all. That is, he started from scratch. He did not have a Greek Orthodox or Roman Catholic or Protestant background. He just started from the beginning. He didn’t know anything about churches. He testified, “What I did when I had a problem in the church was to go straight to the New Testament and settle it. I let the New Testament tell me what I was to do.” The result was that God greatly blessed him and his work in the land of India.
This is what I would like to see in our church–the New Testament order of letting Scripture decide matters. When it comes to a question–any question–what does the Word of God say? All belief and practices should be tested by the Word; no copying unscriptural church methods. We should let the Word of God decide. RRR140.
“Lord, help us to lead our churches to seek clear direction from Your Word and Your Spirit. Amen.” (A.W. Tozer, Tozer on Christian Leadership, July 10)
When did life appear on the earth? Was it billions of years ago, or was it something like 6,000 years ago? The Smithsonian doesn’t know (pictured). They use the word “probably” when it comes to when life began, which is probably the most-used word when it comes to the theory of evolution. I use the word “probably” when it comes to it being the number one word, because I really don’t know. I could be wrong.
Imagine stepping into a plane that you believed was “probably” safe, or into an elevator that has cables that are “probably” secure. But think of what the evolution believer does. He believes that earth probably began billions of years ago, and therefore whole-heartedly rejects the Bible’s account of creation and consequently its offer of Heaven and warning of Hell. All because of probably.
The word “know” is used 717 times in the Bible (KJV), but you won’t find the word “probably” even once. That’s because when God says something, His promise is immutable. You can have faith in it, believe it, rely on it, cling to it, and completely trust it with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength. I have been doing that for over 37 years and never once have I been even slightly disappointed.
It’s because of this absolute trust in God that I know that I have everlasting life. I know that my many sins are forgiven, and I know that I have escaped the damnation of Hell.
This implicit trust is something that God gives to all those who repent and trust in Jesus. If we call upon His name He gives us a new heart with new desires, “seals” us with His Holy Spirit, imputes what is called “righteousness” to us, and on top of that He gives us the ability to trust Him and His promises in such an unshakeable way.
I know that many of you say that you don’t believe that God exists (let alone have faith in His promises), and of course you don’t have faith in what I have to say because you think I am a lying, money-hungry, snake-oil salesman. But I will say it anyway: I cannot find words in the English language to express my love for God. I am at a loss for words when it comes to my fathomless appreciation, my burning gratitude, my exploding thankfulness–for the fact that He has saved me from the power of the grave and given me everlasting life.
Write us off if you will, but you cannot take that reality from those that love God. It’s ours forever…and all you have is “probably.”
A Christian wrote: “He is patient, a God of long-suffering. But one day, your life will be over, and you will have to give God an account of your sins.” An atheist responded: How’s this for an accounting? “Well, Your Invisibleness, the reason I sin is because you ordained that I be born under a sin curse. Remember? I mean–did I choose the wrong sins or what?”
This is what is known in judicial terms as “justification.” The accused criminal seeks to justify his crimes. The grounds for his defense are two-fold: 1. God could not be seen. 2. His crime-nature was inherited from his parents. The Prosecutor steps forward and points to multiple violations of the moral Law–lying, stealing, lust, fornication, bitterness, jealousies, anger, hatred, ingratitude, self-righteousness, pride, and blasphemy. The criminal is guilty on all counts. The invisible nature of God is irrelevant to the case: “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened” (Romans 1:20-21). Blaming the fact that a criminal was born with a bias towards crime doesn’t justify him in civil court, how much less will it justify him when he stands before the holy Law of perfect Creator: “And He said to them, ‘You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God'” (Luke 16:15).
“The stories [my grandmother] tells are quite vivid. If I didn’t know better, I’d believe every word she said. I, and other family members, sometimes feel the need to bring her back to reality, but most of the time, we realize that it’s futile to try. I’m not suggesting that your mental condition is comparable to a 72 year old woman with Alzheimer’s (I would never insult my Grandmother like that), but when you, or anyone else, claims to ‘know God’, I can only assume that you’re in a state of hallucination.”
What’s the basis for your assumption that you are the one who is sane and that your grandmother is not? Here are a few test questions: Do you believe that there is a creation without a Creator? Do you believe a woman has the right to kill her child in the womb? Should homosexuals have the right to marry each other? What is the purpose of your existence (other than to find happiness while you are here)? What is your definition of a sane person? How do you know your definition is the correct one? Does your grandmother think that she is a primate? Do you think she is? Do you believe Richard Dawkins is correct when he says that we are all primates? If there was one chance in a million that God exists, and He is offering you everlasting life, would you take the time to look into it?
New “Whale Evolution” theory reported in BBC News 7 July
2009. After observing two species of mouse deer in Asia jumping into water and swimming
submerged for several minutes biologists have suggested that this was the starting point for
ruminants (animals such as deer, sheep, goats and cows) to evolve into whales. The belief that
ruminants are the ancestors of whales was bolstered in 2007 when Hans Thewissen of the
Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine found a fossil of a ruminant animal that looked
like a small deer, but “also had morphological features that showed it could be an ancestor of early
whales”. Researchers carrying out a biodiversity survey in northern Central Kalimantan Province
in Borneo, Indonesia, observed a deer swimming in a river for over an hour. Other researchers
have observed mouse deer in Sri Lanka remain in pond after escaping from a mongoose.
Zoologist Erik Meijaard commented: “The behaviour is interesting because it is unexpected. Deer
are supposed to walk on land and graze not swim underwater.”
ED. COM. Dogs and many other mammals also regularly jump into water and swim. Does that
mean they are on their way to becoming whales? According to the logic expounded by the
researchers above one of the editors of this newsletter has started to evolve into a whale after
jumping into a river and remaining there to escape a swarm of bees. Meanwhile, the deer were too
busy escaping from predators to read the biology textbook that says they aren’t supposed to swim
underwater. (Ref. fossils, wildlife, behavior)
A London council that bans staff from saying “God bless” at work has sacked a Christian employee for discussing his faith.
Duke Amachree, a homelessness prevention officer, was initially suspended for suggesting that a terminally ill woman look to God for help.
After investigating the incident his employer, Wandsworth Council in London, has decided to dismiss him from his job.
His solicitor, Michael Phillips, says during an investigation meeting Mr Amachree was told it is inappropriate to ever talk about God in the workplace and that he could be disciplined even if he said “God bless” to clients.
Mr Phillips said: “On 17 March, Mr Amachree’s employers told him that ‘God had to be kept out of the workplace’. He was accused of crossing boundaries. The issue of religion, according to the interviewer, should not be raised in a housing issue.
“I, on behalf of Mr Amachree, queried this statement by asking if ‘God bless’ would be an appropriate comment. He was told that it would not be appropriate and that any complaint would again lead to an investigation.”
But Wandsworth Council has accused Mr Phillips of taking remarks made in the meeting out of context.
Andrea Minichiello Williams, director of the Christian Legal Centre, said: “We are supporting Mr Amachree in this case because it is absurd and unjust to think that any public body could be in a position to enforce a policy which means that you can’t even say ‘God Bless’.
“This would effectively mean that faith would become entirely privatised. A Christian cannot leave faith out of any aspect of his or her life including work.”
Earlier this year, commenting after a spate of cases involving Christians being punished at work, the Archbishop of York said: “There is no more urgent time than now to break down the compartmentalised thinking that separates trust in God from the world of work.”
In an article for the Daily Mail he wrote: “Asking someone to leave their belief in God at the door of their workplace is akin to asking them to remove their skin colour before coming into the office. Faith in God is not an add-on or optional extra.”
He continued: “Those who display intolerance and ignorance, and would relegate the Christian faith to just another disposable lifestyle choice, argue that they operate in pursuit of policies based on the twin aims of ‘diversity and equality’.
“Yet, in the minds of those charged with implementing such policies, ‘diversity’ apparently means every colour and creed except Christianity”.
To the Church
By Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin
“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body” (Eph. 1:22-23).
What a need there is for the Church to awaken to the appreciation of her mighty place and privilege, to be exalted to the place God wants her, and to realize she is to rule over the powers of the air!
How often the Church has failed in her ministry of authority, actually bowing down in defeat and being overcome with fear.
“And gave him to be the head over all things to the church.” To the Church! The reason Jesus is Head over all things, “the Devil, demons, sickness, poverty, and everything else that’s evil,” is for the benefit of the Church!
We need to sit reverently and meditate before these mighty truths so their tremendous meaning can grasp our hearts.
In this attitude, the Spirit of Truth can lift us into the place where we can see the full meaning of what God’s Word is saying: That God made Christ to be the head over all things for the sake of the Church, so that the Church, through the Head of the Church, might exercise authority over all things.
Confession: Jesus is my Head. Jesus is Lord over all. Jesus has given me authority over all the hosts of the enemy. Greater is Jesus that is in me than he that is in the world. I am more than a conqueror through Him that loved me and gave Himself for me.

Confessions of Psalm 112
I am a blessed child of God. I fear the Lord and delight greatly in His
commandments. My seed will be mighty in the earth and my generations will be
blessed. Wealth and riches will be in my house and my righteousness will
endure forever. Because I walk uprightly before the Lord, light will arise in the
darkness. My confusion will be overcome and I will have guidance from the Holy
Spirit. There is no problems which can come against me that I will not have
wisdom and the leading of the Lord to overcome. I will also guide my personal,
family and business affairs with discretion. I have wisdom beyond my natural
ability. Because I am gracious, compassionate, righteous and give to others,
favor follows after me. Everywhere I go, blessings find me. Surely I will not be
moved forever. I cannot be shaken by circumstances or fear from the enemy,
because I keep the Lord forever in my remembrance. I will not be afraid of evil
tidings. My heart is fixed. I trust in the Lord. My heart is established, I will never
be afraid. Satan desires to see me defeated. I desire to see him defeated and
destroyed. His desire will not come to pass over me. My desire will come to
pass over him. With God’s power, I will outlast Satan every time. I have
dispersed and given to the poor. My acts of righteousness are eternal. My horn
is lifted up in anticipation of a great outpouring of God’s blessing into my life. The
wicked will see it and be grieved. Though they gnash their teeth at me, they will
melt away and their desires shall perish. My desires will be granted by the Lord
and my treasuries will be filled.
You are redeemed – praise the Lord!
