Life Lessons From Road Runner #1: Don’t Look Down!

Dont Look Down!

Don't Look Down!

If you remember Road Runner used to often run off the edge of a cliff.  Wile E Coyote who was chasing him would chase him off the edge.

For a few minutes both of them would be standing on thin air, suspended by nothing, defying the laws of nature.  Then, after a while, Wile E Coyote would look down.  He would realize that he was standing on nothing and would fall and crash into the ground.  Road Runner, who never looked down, would then turn around and run back onto the cliff: “BEEP! BEEP!”

Today’s life lesson from Road Runner is this: NEVER LOOK DOWN.  As long as Road Runner never looks down he never falls.

As long as you never look down you will never fall.  If you are going through difficult or impossible circumstances, don’t look at them.  Walk by faith and not by sight.  Walk by the Word and not by circumstances.  Peter walked by faith on the water until he looked at the waves, then he started to sink.

You can walk on water.  You can walk on air.  You can walk in impossible situations if you keep your eyes on Jesus and His Word, and don’t look at your circumstances.

Be like Abraham: consider not your own body or your own circumstances, but give glory to God by walking in the light of His Word.

Blessings,

Ben

The Word Will Change Your Circumstances

by Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Ps 107:20

A pastor friend of mine once said to the Lord, “Lord, You know I believe in divine healing, but no one in my church is receiving. What’s the matter?”

The Lord said to him, “Why don’t you preach on it?”

So he started preaching on divine healing, and his whole church got healed.

Before, nearly all of them were sick. But they all got healed. That’s what happens when the Word of God is preached. The Word of God is what does the work.

We are affected by the words we hear—whether it’s truth or untruth. You could listen to someone talk who is worried and oppressed. And when you left his presence, you’d feel oppressed yourself. Some people are so full of doubt and unbelief that the very atmosphere around them is charged with darkness. That kind of atmosphere is created by words.

Thank God for the Word of God! His Word is His will. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Let’s talk about the Word of God. Let’s talk about healing from the standpoint of God’s Word.

Confession:  I speak the Word of God. I speak faith-filled, life-filled words that change the circumstances around me. I refuse to speak doubt and unbelief.

God’s Will For Your Life

Heard a very powerful illustration in church today.   The pastor told a story about a farmer who used to shoot the side of his barn with a rifle.

Someone came to see him and was amazed at how great a shot the farmer was.  Every single shot in the side of the barn was in the middle of a bull’s eye.

The farmer then revealed the secret of his accuracy: he would shoot the barn first, then paint the bull’s eye around where the bullet hit.

The pastor said that that is hw most Christians determine God’s will.  They let circumstances take them wherever and then declare it must be God’s will because it is what happened.

He said we need to spend time with the Lord before we face our circumstances, because we need to know our destination before we step out because you cannot determine the will of God by what happens.

A very powerful illustration of a very powerful truth.

Selah!
