Imagine a Church…
Engaging Culture with the wisdom and power of Christ!
The gifts of healings are part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit and they are awesome to watch. People being spectacularly healed before your very eyes, people receiving the anointing of God in a tangible way and then being set free from horrific malignant diseases. Awesome!
This weekend we are going to watch Melvin Banks minister through the gifts of healings and it is going to be wonderful. Come and see the miracles if you can!
But the gifts of healings often bring confusion to the church as often people leave healing meetings not healed. The person in the seat next to them was powerfully touched and healed, but they were bypassed.
This is due to the fact that the gifts of healings are as the Holy Spirit wills.
But do not be in despair if this happens to you. The gifts of healings are an accelerant: they are like petrol on a bonfire, they make everything burn quicker, they make the healing come quicker.
But even without the gifts of healings – if you stand on the WORD you will be healed.
If God did not heal you using the gifts of healings, don’t despair, get excited!
This means that God TRUSTS you to stand on His Word. And as you stand on the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit inside you will manifest and your healing will come. You are healed by His stripes and as you listen to that and say that and visualise that, your healing will come.
Then you will know God as Healer in a way you would never know Him if you had a healing through the gifts. Watch carefully at healing meetings and you will see it is the non-Christians and the baby Christians that get healed through the gifts of healings. You are expected to grow up and stand up for your own healing. You have to reach a stage where you welcome men of God, but you don’t need them because you have become a man (or woman!) of God yourself!

Nobody has ever fulfilled their destiny without being rooted and grounded in a local church. This message – without being patronizing or condemning – will show you the importance of being committed to a local church, and the benefits of such a relationship.
This message also explains what the core values of a functioning local church should be.
Destiny and Destination – Tree of Life Church London
Just uploaded 3 1/2 sermons to the internet.
2. It’s A Good Destiny!
God is a good God. His destiny for you is GOOD! You will love doing what God has called you to do! So many Christians think doing God’s will is a chore or a difficult task. No – following God’s will is the most exciting life you could ever have.
For some reason the audio recording failed during this message, so you only have the first half of this sermon. However, there is some great teaching in the first half, so enjoy!
3. Angry and Jealous
Anger and jealousy are both emotions that God has created you with. Anger normally ends up as a destructive force but in this powerful message Benjamin shows how anger can be a creative force that empowers us into walking in our destiny, and that jealousy can often reveal God’s will to us in a clear way.
4. The Geography of Destiny
You are designed to function in a particular place with particular people doing a particular task. If you are not doing what you are called to do in the place you are called to do it, you will put in maximum effort and get minimum results. In this clear teaching, Benjamin shows how to get into the place you are supposed to be in.
6. What Do You Want
God has a plan and a destiny for you and being in that destiny will be the greatest joy of your life. However, if you choose to do God’s will and follow God’s destiny, you have to give up everything that is not in God’s will. In this challenging message, Benjamin will lead you to decide if you are willing to pay the price to enjoy God’s best for your life and answer the question “What Do You Want?”
Jesus came to bring life in abundance. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy.
That solves the problem of where sickness and poverty comes from. Forever.

You don’t need to go hunting for power. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you!
Evolutionary stereotypes of the first humans as primitive “Stone Age” cave men who had not yet evolved agriculture just do not square with the Bible’s account of history. The Bible says that in Adam’s day, people “worked the soil” (Genesis 4:2—following the events of 2:15 and 3:17), forged bronze and iron tools (4:22) and made and played musical instruments (4:21). There never was a “Stone Age”!1 (Nor the evolutionary-defined “Bronze Age” or “Iron Age” for that matter.)
So what are we to make of the abundant evidence of human cave-dwellers in the past, such as caves with campfire ash, meal leftovers and charcoal etchings on cave walls?
Firstly, we can note that the caves we see in the world today are all post-Flood. In fact, their very existence—i.e. their formation and worldwide distribution—can really only be satisfactorily explained in terms of conditions generated by the global Flood of Noah’s day (Genesis 6–9).2
Secondly, we see that the Bible itself refers many times to people in caves (post-Noah and post-Babel). However, these are not the “cave men” of evolutionary stereotype. Rather, they are “fully human”—i.e. the descendants of Adam (and Noah)—who for one reason or another3 spent time in caves.
These included Sodom and Gomorrah’s only surviving refugees—Lot and his daughters (Genesis 19:30), the five Amorite kings hiding from Joshua (Joshua 10:16–18,22), and Samson in the cave at Etam (Judges 15:8).
When David left Gath he escaped to the cave of Adullam (1 Samuel 22:1), and later he and his men were in the back of a cave at En Gedi when Saul entered (1 Samuel 24:1–4). Others who spent time in caves were Elijah (1 Kings 19:9,13), Obadiah’s one hundred prophets (whom he supplied with food and water—1 Kings 18:4,13), the ‘men of Israel’ when the Philistines were camped at Micmash (1 Samuel 13:6), and the Israelites at the time of Gideon (Judges 6:2).
These and the many other people in history who found it convenient to live in caves at various times4,5 (and even today—see photos) were not “primitive”, “prehistoric”, “Stone Age” sub-humans, or some such evolutionary stereotype. They were descendants of the first man and woman, created in the image of their Creator (Genesis 1:27), with an in-built capacity for intelligent thought, speech and creativity.
The Lord has said that there will be people occupying caves at some future time, too, as they try to hide themselves from him.
As an outlet for their creative urges, and a welcome distraction while holed up inside a cave, they could have whiled away the time drawing charcoal figures on the walls, or composing poetry. Two of the Psalms, for instance, were written by David when he was ‘in the cave’ (Psalms 57,142—see titles), a poignant record of his crying out to the Lord.
The same Lord has said that there will be people occupying caves at some future time, too, as they try to hide themselves from Him (Isaiah 2:19,21; Revelation 6:15), unsuccessfully (Jeremiah 23:24).

Most adults agree that smacking naughty children doesn’t pose a “high risk” to their welfare, according to a new survey by an anti-smacking children’s charity.
The results are likely to be seen as a blow to anti-smacking campaigners who have long tried to convince parents that smacking is detrimental to their children’s welfare.
The survey, conducted by The Children’s Society, revealed that two-thirds of the adults surveyed don’t believe that smacking poses a “high risk” to children.
Dr Patricia Morgan, a prominent social science author, welcomed the results, saying: “There is a major gap between what parents think and what the campaigners tell them.
“All the existing research shows that children brought up by permissive parents do worse than those who set boundaries and enforce the rules, and those who are smacked as a punishment for breaking rules in such families do better. Parents are right.”
The research revealed that 32 per cent of respondents believed smacking to be of low risk, while 36 per cent believed it to be of medium risk.
By contrast 33 per cent of those surveyed described physical punishment as high risk.
But Bob Reitemeier, Chief Executive of The Children’s Society, expressed concern over the results.
Mr Reitemeier said: “Physical violence is something children definitely need to be protected from. The survey revealed a worrying lack of concern by one third of people surveyed about parents slapping their children.
“Children are the only group of people in this country who can be legally hit on a regular basis by others, with little protection in law.”
But this claim was dismissed by Dr Morgan, who said: “Children are the only people who can be legally sent to bed by others. Does that make it wrong?”
The results were from a wider survey, carried out by market researchers GfK NOP, which asked 2,047 adults to identify the biggest risks faced by youngsters aged six to 15 in six different scenarios.
Earlier this year bureaucrats from the Council of Europe said that parents who smack their children should be prosecuted for assault.
Family value campaigners expressed alarm that “a vocal minority” of activists were in danger of undermining the authority of parents to discipline their children.
Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, said: “Prohibiting all corporal punishment is a legal imperative and I hope the United Kingdom will take that essential step urgently.”
She also claimed that gentle smacks which do not leave a mark could cause children psychological harm, and attacked the UK’s approach to parenting which is “one of authority.”
But Norman Wells, Director of the Family Education Trust, said: “It is parents, and not national governments, who bear the responsibility of caring for children, nurturing them, and correcting them where necessary.”
A Labour MP has been left embarrassed after her assistant accidentally issued an email making fun of parents’ concerns about a controversial sex education film.
Chris and Pauline Power began campaigning against the “cartoon porn” video, entitled Living and Growing, after seeing a preview of it at their son’s junior school.
The video, which is produced by Channel 4, shows a cartoon couple chasing each other around a bed before having sex in various positions.
However, when Mr Power contacted his local MP Alison McGovern about the video he didn’t expect his concerns to be belittled.
After four weeks of silence Mr Power received an accidental email from one of Miss McGovern’s staff.
The email, sent by a Labour Party worker known as Jay, said: “Alison, think we need to get a response out to this gentleman. Know it’s an awfully uncomfortable discussion to have, but think we need to get a position (stop giggling at the back) sooner than later.”
Mr Power has expressed dismay over the juvenile response.
He said: “We have tried our best to protest against the important issue of sex education in schools and have contacted Ms McGovern on many occasions over the last four weeks.
“I hadn’t received anything back until today and even then it was an email I wasn’t supposed to see.
“There is a time and a place for joking around, but this is a serious issue and what message does it send out when those who are supposed to represent us have such a disregard for the opinions of electors.
“It is a sad comment on our society that this is how an MP treats her constituents.”
Miss McGovern, who described the email as “puerile”, indicated that the staff member may be disciplined.
She said: “Although it was clearly sent by mistake, I will be looking at the situation and speaking with him personally.
“I have tried to get in touch with Mr Power to send my personal apologies.”
The staff member has also offered his apologies.
Earlier this year angry mums blasted a primary school’s plan to show pupils the Living and Growing video.
Cliff Lane Primary School in Suffolk was planning to show the video to seven-year-old pupils, but outraged mums were left horrified after they saw the graphic DVD during a consultation.
Kara Munday, whose five-year-old daughter attends the school, said: “We are genuinely concerned that sexual activity would take place because they would be aware of what these parts do and how to make it feel nice”.
She added: “Their innocence will be taken away at an early age.”
Her concerns were echoed by Emma O’Brien, whose seven-year-old son attends the school, who said: “There are some body parts kids don’t need to know yet. They shouldn’t be taught that.”
