Wonderful News Healing Crusade Evening Two

No sermon sorry – that old wonder of technical difficulties!

Only 8 adults, mostly new people – all Christians. Then had one person come in off the street, he was sitting outside drinking and I invited him in, and I preached the gospel to him as if that was my intended message to all the Christians! He loved the message, and took my business card and a church card away with him.

We then prayed for him as a church and I preached on the free grace of God and how Christ has paid the complete price for all our sin and sickness and we can enjoy the righteousness of God.  And also because it is free that we should welcome in people off the street no matter how different they seem.

I talked about respectable sins and disrespectable sins.  Some slaves would be made to be cooks, treated well, almost as part of the family.  Other slaves would be used as the family prostitute.  One respectable, one disrespectable.  Both slaves – both need redemption.  Lazarus was dead and he stinketh – Jairus’ daughter was dead but could be mistaken for sleeping.  You couldn’t mistake Lazarus for sleeping!  Both needed resurrection.

Our sins might be “nice” ones or they might be “horrible” ones but we all need a Saviour so we should never be proud towards people who come who are obviously sinners and who stinketh and who are disrespectable because actually they need the same miracle we needed.

When I started to preach, the Lord said to me that the meeting was smaller but more significant and this is true because two ladies caught me at the end and want to join our church and our vision.

You know God didn’t say make crowds but make disciples, so I receive His Word that tonight has been more insignificant. The man who came in off the street said everyone made him feel so welcome even though he didn’t like large crowds (I know we are hardly a large crowd!!!)… afterwards I was discussing with my wife and every example I chose was relevant in his life, praise the Lord.

All in all a very positive night… tomorrow the Lord has told me the Holy Spirit is going to do special things. I cannot wait!

Can Sin Cost You Your Salvation

0

Recently I was asked about whether a repeated sin such as looking at pornography will cost you your salvation.  The simple answer to this question is NO!  The longer answer, which I gave, I have reproduced below to encourage and help anyone who feels they may have lost their so great salvation.

Dear (name deleted),

You cannot lose your salvation! It is not like your car keys where you put them down and then don’t know where they are. Your salvation is a new birth that creates a new you. You cannot lose your salvation because you cannot lose you – you is who you are.

Your salvation is you – it is you being alive spiritually having been born again and now living in him. However, you can reject the life of Christ from inside you and if you do this intelligently, deliberately and freely as a mature Christian, you will essentially die spiritually again and then there will be no more redemption for you.

This is found in Hebrews 6.3-4 among other places. But sin will not cost you your salvation. It might harden your heart and lead you to the place where you willingly reject God, but it in itself won’t make God reject you, to say otherwise is to insult the precious redemptive work of our Lord Jesus at Calvary.

So why should we not sin, and how can we avoid sin? The answer is in Romans 6. Romans 6.1-13 tells us that sin is not part of our nature. The more you meditate on the fact that you are in Christ, that you have been redeemed, that love coarses through your veins, that you are spiritual alive, that you are the righteousness of God, the less attraction sin will have on you. It is not normal or natural for you to sin. It is like an eagle banging its head on a tree – it is painful, it is not part of its nature. Just because someone else did it, doesn’t mean you have to.

Sin is powerful, sin is attractive, sin is pleasureable. I know that and you know that. However, Christ is more powerful, more attractive and more pleasureable. Seek your peace in Christ.

Keep confessing outloud: “I am righteous, I am wise, I am love. I am born again and my life is pure and peaceable.” Say it again and again. Keep these Words in your heart and mouth day and night and you will have great success.

Romans 6.14 onwards show us that sin makes us its slave. When we have a desire to sin, whether it is to lose our temper, act greedily, or watch porn, there is a lie in our minds that says if I do it this one LAST time, it will satiate the hunger.

Sin will never satiate hunger – it will only ever increase the hunger and make it worse. Fill up your time with worship and with prayer and with fellowship. Talking about pornography specifically, pornography is a substitute for intimacy. Not necessarily sexual intimacy. To really beat a pornography addiction, you need people around you who are like minded who care for you and think like you. People you can call day and night who will just be there.

Hope this helps,

Ben

We Died To Our Old Nature (Kenneth Hagin)

We Died to Our Old Nature

By Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.(2 Cor. 5:17)

When we were born again, we died to our old nature. We died to our diseases. And we rose in the fullness of life, free from our sins and diseases.

I was reading a sermon by a Methodist minister once. In his sermon, he shared the following story:
“I was in bondage to tobacco. I was in a large city at a Methodist conference and wanted a cigarette. So I went into the back alley and smoked a cigarette.
[If any of the brethren had seen him, they would have taken his ordination papers away from him.] Afterwards, I felt so condemned.

“I said to the Lord, ‘Lord, I’ve done my best. I know that I don’t need that and I shouldn’t be bound by anything. And yet, I’m under bondage. I’ve prayed and fasted sometimes as long as two weeks and I still go right back to it.’

“Then I heard the Lord say, ‘That’s the problem. You’ve tried to do it yourself. Don’t you know that I delivered you from all bondage at Calvary?’ I said, ‘Yes, that’s right. You did. Thank You, Lord. I’m delivered!'”

From that day on, he never wanted another cigarette. You see, he accepted God’s deliverance and was set free!

In the area of healing, many people are struggling and trying to be healed. They don’t realize that Jesus already delivered them from all sickness and disease at Calvary and that all they have to do is accept it and thank God for it.

Confession
Thank You, Father, for delivering me from sickness and disease at Calvary. I accept it and thank You for it!

Who Is Qualified to Lay Hands on the Sick? (Kenneth E Hagin)

Who Is Qualified To Lay Hands on the Sick

By Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin

…They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:18

We’ve looked at this scripture before in explaining that not all healings are instantaneous. Now let’s look at the previous verse, Mark 16:17. “And these signs shall follow THEM THAT BELIEVE….”

These signs, such as laying hands on the sick, shall follow believers. Who shall lay hands on the sick?

Believers shall lay hands on the sick.

You see, laying on of hands is more than a sign. It is also a New Testament doctrine. It’s one of the fundamental principles of the doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:1 and 2 says, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands….”

The doctrine of laying on of hands belongs to the whole Church. Any believer has the right to lay hands on the sick in the Name of Jesus.

In 1963, I was preaching at a meeting in Tulsa, and a young Baptist couple came up to me. The wife said to me, “We’re so glad we came.

We’ve learned so much. You spoke about the laying on of hands a few nights ago. Well, my husband started mowing the lawn yesterday. I heard the lawnmower running, but I realized it wasn’t moving.

“So I ran out and looked. My husband was lying in the middle of the front yard, flat on his face. The lawnmower had run up against the house and was still running. Ordinarily, I would have panicked and gone wild, but instead, I rushed out there and laid hands on him.”

The Bible says that believers, not just preachers, shall lay hands on the sick. I am a believer. I can lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Deal With Your Unbelief – Don’t Excuse It!

If you read Matthew 17 where the disciples ask Jesus why they couldn’t heal the boy his response isn’t “Because of my divine will” or “it simply isn’t the right time” or “we need to bind the demonic strongholds over the town for several days” or “the gifts passed away with Elijah” or “you never know what God is going to do.” His response to the question “why couldn’t we heal” is “because of your unbelief”.

The contemporary church cannot deal with that answer. Psychological and new age ideas have convinced us that we should never take responsibility for anything. Calvinism has taught us erroneously that our destiny is simply the tapestry of God’s will being played out and we are helpless pawns in the game of life.

However there is a rise of people who realize that the reason the church is not doing the works of Jesus is because it does not believe in Him according to the Word. A people who are pulling down the strongholds not over their city but between their ears so that their minds are renewed to the Word of God. A people who will do signs and wonders and preach the gospel to the nations. A people who will obey the Lord no matter the cost, no matter the persecution. A people who will deal with their unbelief and through faith will subdue kingdoms, work righteousness and win nations.
